28/MAY/2024
Community Liaison Officer Sage Fowler
ROCKFORD HILLS - This is an official statement issued by the Los Santos Fire Department's Community Liaison Office in response to the Occupation Avenue Motor Vehicle Accident which occurred on the 27th of May 2024.
Statement Begins On the 27th of May, at roughly around 00:13, the Los Santos Fire Department (LSFD) received a call from the Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) and the Los Santos Sheriff's Department (LSSD). The department was informed of a vehicle crash on Occupation and Capital, to which Rescue 252 and EM1 was dispatched and arrived and staged until the law enforcement officers on scene cleared them to move in. Upon arrival, crews would locate a single SUV vs Tree and a singular patient that both LSPD and LSSD would be providing EMR level of care. Rescue 252 would successfully take over and begin treatment on the patient.
The crew would begin to prep the patient for transport to Pillbox Medical Center, however, it was in this time that an individual would approach the rescue, they would be requested to move to provide more space for our crew to work. However, they would attempt to access the rescue forcibly numerous times and shouting, obstructing them from performing their duties. The individual would push one of the crew members from LSFD to attempt to gain access. This posed a risk not only to themselves but the patient and the paramedics as well.
The individual was restrained by law enforcement, providing extra time for paramedics to continue working the patient safely.
However, at around 00:24, just as Rescue 252 was about to transport, once more, the individual had intervened and had successfully gained access to the rescue. A deputy would pull a taser, aiming it at the individual, demanding they get out of the rescue. They would be forcibly removed by an LSPD officer. It would be at this time, Rescue 252 would finally be able to transport to PHMC.
The actions made by the individual were reckless and endangered not only our Paramedics, but the victim as well. The Los Santos Fire Department categorically condemns any physical or verbal attacks against Government Employees. Our department will continue to provide the City of Los Santos with excellent medical care.
The Los Santos Fire Department will not be providing any further comment following this statement due to on-going investigations.
